    information about surkhab

    Asslam-O-Alaqum friends,

    Is there anyone have surkhab, if yes please share their pics and give me some info about it. Its bit urgent, planning to purchase that.

    Salam Bhai,
    This was my pair which i sold last year. Its look like Ringneck Pheasants, available in K.P Area's. Cost alomst 3k to 5K a pair). they can be tamed, if keep them with hens.Click image for larger version.

    Yes Zahid bro, they can fly same like Peafowls & Pheasants,
    But aap chiks lay ke Hens kay sath chhor do to wo hens ke sath hill jate hen.

    They get frightened easily and fly like anything. You need to have these clipped all the time like Peacocks.

    Isn't Surkhaab the Urdu name for pheasant? or may be a specific mutation of pheasants is called surkhaab, I'm not sure. But I do remember that I have seen the name surkhaab in Urdu and Pheasant in English written on the name plate on a pheasant's cage at Karachi Zoo.

    yes phesant is surkhab but it have alot mutation. Like ringneck, simple, golden. But i need its detail about caring, food, breeding, is there any BP membering keeping it?

    Not keeping them anymore. If you want to know about breeding, here it is. It breeds almost like layer chickens. Eggs every other day. That's the reason its been offered every where as a table bird. Grows very fast with a normal broiler feed. It has one weakness though. You need to house chicks in a large area otherwise, they keep on plucking each other. A single drop from the flesh triggers every other bird to have a go onto it and the wounded certainly dies.
